21 year-old college student, part time supermarket deli clerk, occasional club kid. Shouting at the world, because nobody is listening. Day after day, week after week, nothing ever changes. Is this all that I am, all I will ever be?

Julie Powell used Julia Child’s cooking to fill a void in her life. Unfortunately, I don’t have hours every day to prepare a boeuf bourguignon, nor do I have family that would appreciate that sort of thing. However I’ve always had a passion for two things: writing and film. Ideally, I would like to combine them to try and find some sense of purpose.

So, i’ve created this blog. Starting on 17 November 2010, I’m watching as many different films as I can. I’ll try to gain some sort of insight from them, and i’ll tell you, my readers, what I think of them. Every movie is a work of art and contributes something to human culture. That idea is beautiful, and that is what I want you to take away from this blog.

I’m going to try to hit all the major genres, though i’ll probably go through some stretches of movies with similar plots/themes, and write a comparative analysis. As far as film selection, I’m definitely open to suggestions. I have a feeling that Blockbuster and Netflix are going to become my very good friends.

As far as comments, I welcome them. If you disagreed with what I said, or had a different interpretation of a plot element I described, I want to know about it. Even if you liked a review and want to tell me so. Believe me, it can get lonely when it looks like i’m shouting into the void of cyberspace, and it is nice to know that someone is actually reading this.
